If we can’t be at Le Tour de France, then let’s do a Melbourne le Tour tribute ride. Route curated by Ride International Tours Pat Fitzpatrick.
9am start (following SKCC TdFrance night)
8.45am: pre ride Coffee, Tea, hot chocolate.
Start Location: Brunetti cafe, 380 Lygon st Carlton (due to its large outdoor area and ample undercover bike parking area.
Course: 60km – 500m climbing loop.
Route Here for download to your preferred navigation device:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36689179Regroup points, Points of interest and coffee, snack stop listed on map.
NB: All riders are encouraged to have the route downloaded to their preferred navigation device. If you are using a phone to navigate, we recommend using the @QuadLock cycling accessories combined with the RideWithGPS App for navigation
As always we’ll lead the ride and nominate optional regroup locations, Riders are free to ride as fast – and or as leisurely as suits their needs, we’ll form a moderate paced groupetto. Self-sufficiency is always Top ✅
A special Tour de France tribute course curated by Ride International Tours.
We’ll sample plenty of new sectors around Melbourne’s metro – inner north, a QOM up the Muur de Tulla. There’s plenty of variation in the parcour, it’ll encourage passionate Tour de France chat 🇫🇷
What to Bring:
Overdress is best (especially if Previous mornings are anything to go by, it’s never really warmed up), be prepared to stop in the event of regroups and or mechanicals, don’t run spring summer clothing assuming you’ll warm up – No such thing as cold or bad weather right :-) ?
A hipster handlebar bag is a bonus – forecast is for a COLD start to the day – there’s always a chance of some Melbourne mist.
As an indication, I’ll be wearing layers: Arm warmers, leg warmers, shoe covers, gillet (vest) – and a full sleeve warm/ thermal winter jacket, gloves and ear- head warmer.
